Well gang… it has taken me a little while but my web site is finally put together and operating. Although it probably isn’t quite optimal yet but it’s better than the old ones I’ve done. This site is in what is known as a “blog” format and is driven by Word Press. Word Press sites are usually dynamically driven – they use a combination of PHP scripting and MySQL database entries and allow all the interaction commonly associated with these types of sites. Anywho… it just means that I get to write things and other’s can register and login and write things or make comments and the whole site becomes one big “interactive” animal. I really like this format for a web site and I plan on doing more of them whever possible. Creating a site like this is so different than writing static pages using a program like FrontPage and just putting them up there to stare at. The biggest thing is understanding how the Cascading Style Sheets work and creating a Word Press Theme or Style. I created this Shakespearian Theme including all the graphics… I was just in the mood to do it that way. There are so many other themes created by so many talented people that are out there and I’ll make them available once I get this site more stable..
Ok? So Now What?
This page is now going to be my “Home Page”, I’ve never done that before but I’m going to do it now… I’m going to set my browser to use my site as my first page and from there I’ve added a few web sites links that I read so…. it’s all good. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should install the FireFox Browser and stop using Microsoft’s Explorer. The FireFox Browser does a much better job of handling the interpretation of CSS… and basically… it just works better. I tested this web site with both FireFox and IE 6… they look the nearly the same… at least they look enough alike that I can live with it…
The Plan
So my plan is to write in this blog as often as I can (and if you happen to be one of my children (or grandchildren)… pay attention) This strong>should help all of you to understand what I’m doing, where I am and what I’m up to… you can comment… just click on the register or login links at the top of this page and follow the instructions – you’ll get an email with a password. You can login to the site and make comments on anything you see. I may at some point enable you to write your own articles on this site… it sorta depends on the activity the site gets from all of you… If no one is reading this stuff and no one is commenting then I’m going to trash it and you can spend your time guessing where I am… 
From time-to-time I may write a few personal items and I may ‘promote’ your user id so you can read them…. but you have to register so I can do that…. I think once you give this a try you’ll find it will work really well. If you have some suggestions then register/login and write them to me on the site. You could even make this site your home page…

By the way, keep in mind that this is an on-going project for me. I’ll be adding things and changing things as it develops. Some of the items aren’t on the site yet but should be soon. Sometimes, I take the site down – just read the message I put up and try later…
